19th Century Cello Case w/ White Star Line Luggage Sticker, "Coffin Case"
19th Century Cello Coffin Case
We are offering...
A unique 19th century wooden cello coffin case. The case has its original black paint and lining.
It is in great unrestored condition. The case has two latches on either ends of the case as well
as a lock in the middle of the case. Near the lock there is a handle that is in great condition.
The inside of the case has its original paper and green felt. This case is very sturdy as well as stylish.
Side of the case has a circa 1920's White Star Line luggage sticker. The "wanted" on the sticker
refers to this case needing to be accessible to the owner while on the voyage across the Atlantic,
meaning that this could be the case of a musician who was entertaining passengers aboard the ship.

The Oceanic Steam Navigation Company, more commonly known as the White Star Line (WSL),
was a British shipping company. Founded out of the remains of a defunct packet company,
it gradually rose up as one of the most prominent shipping lines in the world, providing passenger
and cargo services between the British Empire and the United States. While many other shipping
