Antique Wax Over Paper Mache Doll, Glass Eyes & Red Hair, Nice Project 23"

Description

This lovely young lady is a wax over paper mache shoulder doll with half arms of the same and composition legs from the knees down. Her torso is stuffed with a combination of sawdust and straw.
Her face coloring is pretty and she has unusual grey glass eyes. You can see however that her left eye is in place but shattered. She has a lot of red hair but it is messy.
She does have a substantial crack to her back shoulder below her neck. I  wasn't aware of it until I undressed her so the dress keeps her together quite well. Her arms are barely attached at the shoulder, but again held in place by the dress. The composition legs look good, some age related crazing and small paint flakes but not too bad. I really like the painted boots.
The undergarments look old, the corset and especially the bustle at the buttocks are very cool. The skirts and jacket are in good condition but all closures are with safety pins. The colors do compliment her.
I am selling her in as found condition and I am aware she has condition issues but this type doll is on the rare side and I feel she would be a worthwhile restoration project.
Or, enjoy her as is like I have.
