Description

BAITZ - This well-illustrated  German language book of 177 pages concerns the rather sad history of Lilli Baitz (1874-1942) and the wonderful creations bearing her name.  She excelled in costume making.  We believe most of her figures and half-dolls were of a composition material.  She did make one half-doll model in porcelain which can be found dressed in a variety of  traditional/regional costumes.
PERIODICALS - Antique Doll World (Sept/Oct 1994) features a 6 page spread about half-dolls written by the sellers.  Antique Doll Collector (June 2005) features a beautiful 4 page spread about the half dolls of Carl Thieme also by the sellers.  Collect it!  (May 2007) is an English magazine with a 3 page article about half dolls.
HERTWIG & CO.  ARCHIVES 1890-1937 - Hardbound book of 136 pages heavily illustrated with dolls, half-dolls, snow babies, etc.  representing the 2001 sale of the remaining inventory of this famous maker.  By Theriault, excellent condition with slight tear on dust cover.
NAUGHTIES, NUDIES, ETC. & BAWDY BISQUES, ETC. - These books are from Sharon Weintraub who is the recognized authority on the subject.  If you do not currently collect these wonderful damsels, flipping through these pages could well change your mind.
All of the above are in used but excellent condition.
