About the Seller:I have been an eBay seller since 2000 with a perfect 100% feedback rating covering over 1,500 transactions. You can bid with confidence.
My items come from a smoke-free home.
About this Item:
This is a high quality, cast brass keyhole cover. Unlike the thin stamped brass items they make now, this is a finely cast, substantial piece of solid brass. They were taken from a salvaged home. The traditional, classic style would be appropriate in any post 1900 home including Mission, Arts and Crafts, Craftsman, Deco and the end of the Victorian era.
Marked inside with "76940". Although I can't be positive, I believe it was made by Sargent & Co (The other hardware in the house was Sargent).
The exterior of the keyhole has been lightly polished. If you want to keep the bright finish, just apply a coat of clear poly. Otherwise just let nature take its course and it will gradually age on its own.
No screws are provided.
This auction is for ONE keyhole. I have 20 available as this auction begins (see last photo) and I am offering discounts for multiple purchases.
The photo is of a typical sample of the 20 I have. The one you receive will not be the one pictured, but they are all practically identical and each one will have minor differences.
Measures 2" tall by 1 1/8" wide by 1/8" thick. The actual opening for the key is 23/32" tall (just shy of 3/4")
